Responsible for global sourcing and production vice president Nick Athanasakos confirmed that Vietnam has become the Nike Shoes brand’s main production base.
The Group exports about 158 million pairs per year shoes (Nike and Converse brand), these shoes are manufactured in Vietnam 40, while about 300,000 people with jobs.
Vietnam’s footwear exports about 50% of Nike Free‘s products, the production of Nike shoes in Vietnam to the U.S. exports worth more than $ 2 billion.
Athanasakos labor costs as the Group will continue to choose Vietnam as a production base is an important factor.
Executives also said that the Group will strive to increase domestic prices of raw materials to reduce production costs.
